Archbishop Desmond Tutu Hospitalized
Renowned elder statesman and first black Archbishop of Cape Town, Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu will remain in hospital for observation today after undergoing an intensive course of antibiotics. Archbishop Tutu was admitted to an undisclosed private hospital in Cape town almost some seven days ago after an oral treatment for a persistent infection failed. The 83-year-old will remain under medical observation despite no longer receiving intravenous treatment. In a statement released by the Desmond and Leah Foundation states, Archbishop Tutu is in high spirits and is responding well to treatment. The Sydney Peace Prize laureates was hospitalised for a suborn infection almost a week ago.
